Surrey Coalition Of Disabled People
Surrey Coalition Of Disabled People
The Coalition enable and empower disabled people and those living with a long-term health condition to be an active and central part of the community. They proactively work with health, social care and community partners to co-produce services, strategies and policy.
Their work focuses on 6 areas:
- Getting involved: Their specialist Interest groups meet regularly with key health, social care and community partners to co-produce services and to feedback any concerns or issues that are affecting Disabled people.
- Technology: Access to technology and advice. If you don’t have access to technology or you need a helping hand to use your device, the Technology team can help.
- Mental health: A network of people who have had mental ill-health, and carers, who work together with the NHS and social care service providers to improve mental health care.
- Physical activity: Access to advice and support to help you get active. They offer a one-to-one appointment with their physical activity expert to help you get active. They also run Get More Active Get Together group activity sessions.
- Campaigning: The Coalition get involved with national and local campaigns that benefit their members.
- Keeping you connected: The Coalition run a range of virtual social events including Book Club, Glee Club and a Virtual Cafe.
