Disabled Facilities Grant - Guildford Borough Council

Guildford Borough Council

A Disabled Facilities Grant is funding from a local Council to pay for adaptations so that people with disabilities or health-related needs can live safely in their homes.

Adaptations might involve installing ramps and widening doors for wheelchair users, installing stairlifts or adapting heating or lighting controls to make them easier to use.

A resident can apply for a grant whether they own or rent a home. Landlords may also apply on behalf of a tenant.

The grant must be for someone who has a disability and requires an adaptation to help them live safely at home.

Grants In Guildford:

Guildford Borough Council will work to assist a resident to access the housing adaptations they need. The staff can assist to develop plans to adapt a home. If adaptation is not possible, they may help a resident to find and move to a home more suitable to their needs.

The work may be funded by either a resident or the Disabled Facilities Grant.
