Esher Adult Learning Centre

Surrey County Council

Surrey County Council's Supported Learning team offers an entry-level programme of courses for adults with learning disabilities (LD). The courses are designed to:

  • improve communication, reading, writing, number, and ICT skills
  • promote community participation, engagement, and social inclusion
  • enable independence
  • develop confidence
  • enhance employability skills
  • provide opportunities to maintain physical and mental wellbeing

On some of the courses, learners will work towards a nationally recognised qualification. These courses are free to learners who meet the eligibility requirements. They are also able to offer bespoke courses to organised groups.

Special Requirements

The centre consists of one main building and an external art studio. The art studio is accessible via stairs or an external lift.
The main building is primarily on a ground floor level and is accessible to wheelchair users and those with disabilities. An inclusive toilet is available.
The upstairs classroom is only accessible by walking up or down a flight of stairs, however this room will only be used if no alternatives are available.
