Disabled Facilities Grant Surrey Heath Borough Council

A Disabled Facilities Grant is funding from your local Council to pay for adaptations so that people with disabilities or health-related needs can live safely in their homes.

Adaptations might involve installing ramps and widening doors for wheelchair users, installing stairlifts or adapting heating or lighting controls to make them easier to use.

You can apply for a grant whether you own or rent your home. Landlords may also apply on behalf of a tenant.

The grant must be for someone who has a disability and requires an adaptation to help them live safely at home.

Surrey Heath Borough Council will work to assist you to access the housing adaptations you need. They have staff who can assist you develop plans to adapt your home. If adaptation is not possible, they may help you find and move to a home more suitable to your needs.

The work may be funded by either yourself or the Disabled Facilities Grant.
