Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS) switch off
From 30 June, the radio teleswitch service (RTS) will be switched off, potentially impacting the electricity and hot water supply in some homes. Older electricity meters, known as RTS meters, use a radio signal to switch between peak and off-peak rates. This radio signal will be discontinued on 30 June as it has reached the end of its operational life.
If you or someone you know has an RTS meter, your energy supplier should have already contacted you to arrange an upgrade.
