Local services can also help you find the right equipment or support. This page explains what’s available and how to get started.

Toilet aids and equipment
If you find it hard to get on or off the toilet, there are products that can help. These can make using the toilet safer and easier.
Useful products include:
- commodes – help if you cannot reach the toilet in time
- toilet grab rails – support you when sitting or standing
- raised toilet seats – make it easier to sit and stand
- smart toilets – reduce germs with features like bidets, sensors and cleaning
- toilet frames and rails – fit around the toilet for extra support
Find aids and simple equipment online
The home equipment finder is an online tool. It helps you find useful products based on your needs.
You can:
- search by room, like bathroom
- choose your needs, like falls or mobility
- browse by product type
Help with continence
If you have bladder or bowel problems, speak to your GP. They can check for medical issues and refer you to a continence adviser.
A continence adviser can:
- create a treatment plan
- suggest products like pads or waterproof bedding
